This is MY GIRL!

This is my beautiful baby girl. She is not so much of a baby anymore. I love seeing her grow up and learn new things. Today I went to change her diaper and she got so mad so I told her that she needed to stop using diapers and start going potty in the big girl pot. So I took her in there and she went potty and POOP! I was so proud. I told her not to potty while she took her nap but to wait to go on the big girl potty. She was pretty happy about that.
She loves, absolutely loves my cell phone. I will walk away and she will snatch it up and run. She can be so ornery sometimes. Its so hard not to laugh but I do hold it in and tell her to be a good girl. Last night she went into the kitchen and I told her to come back, well she didn't, go figure. I started counting and usually she comes back at 2 but this time I got to three and she started crying....I went in there and found her in her booster seat with the belt latched. lol she couldn't get out. I had to laugh.
She is just a delight to all of us!

She gives you these wonderful smiles that you just can't resist. She is a ball of energy who gets into everything. BUT she really is so good and will eventually obey if I keep at it. I can't believe our little girl is 4 months away from being 2 years old. This time has gone by so fast.

I just can't imagine our lives without her. She lights up everything around us and has a inner beauty that I can't wait to see when she gets a little older.



Yes, having Addyson around sure does make life interesting. She is growing up so fast.


I absolutely love her hair and how colorful it is. My little red head, I love you so much, even with that temper of yours.

My weekend in Tyler by Addyson

Last weekend after mommy and I put Lesly on the bus mommy made me get in the car and sit there for 3 hours. She kept telling me we were going to see Aunt Kiss, Uncle Dennis, Grammy and cousin Elijah. Every time she told me who we were going to see I got this big smile on my face because I miss them so much. I didn't really understand who cousin Elijah was but smiled anyways because mommy likes to get a reaction out of me. We finally stopped and mommy got all excited and tried to get me out of the car as fast as she could. She got a little mad at me because I tried to pull my arms out of the straps while she was driving....for some reason she doesn't like it but it makes me feel more comfortable. Grammy met us by the car and I got excited because I hadn't seen her in a week, I missed her. Mommy ran inside and picked up this baby.....I was kind of jealous because normally everyone is paying attention to me instead of a little baby that was sleeping. It was very boring because everyone was passing this baby back and forth and not holding me. So I decided to get them all back and get into everything and anything. I spilled Grammy's water all over me as I was running away from her. Mom didn't like that one bit. I was just wanting them to play with me instead of that baby. Aunt Kiss finally let me hold the baby, mommy kept telling me he was my cousin, I wasn't too sure what that meant but I went along with holding him. It was really fun, he just sat in my arms and didn't hit me or move around a lot. I got to hug him and kiss him and rub his hair. Mommy told me to whisper a secret to him and I did. I told him that I was his big cousin and that I would always take care of him, especially when the mommy and daddy's got upset because he did something he shouldn't of. I told him that we would stick together and I would show him the ropes. No one knew what I was saying but he understood because he smiled at me. I think we are going to be best buds. I kind of understand what they were all excited over. My cousin is a pretty cool baby. We had to leave the next day but mommy said we would see them again next month. I can't wait to see him, maybe he will play blocks with me. I forgot all about him when I got home because my daddy was there and I missed him. Next time I hope he can come with us. He pays attention to me.....

January 27th 2009

Today is a very special day for us, many of you might just think it's just another Tuesday in January but to us it's the day our precious baby was due. Of course there are many factors and who knows if he/she would of been born today but today was the day we had been anticipating for 11 short weeks, too short if you ask me.
This isn't going to be some sad, I'm depressed, pity me blog because I feel that today is a special day I will always hold in my heart. Yes, it's sad to not be holding my baby BUT I know he/she is safe in the hands of Jesus.
I think I've grown a lot in the last month or so, I mean a month ago if it had fallen on this day I would of been a mess. But this year holds many promises and many blessings and I will not allow myself to fall down and hope someone else comes along and picks me up and makes things better. God has a mighty plan for each of us and I will grasp on to that and continue believing in HIM because there is no greater HOPE than that!!!

Yes, today is a special day in the hearts of the Griffis family. I can't wait for the day that I will be united with such a special child.

Christmas time (a little late)

I know this is really late but I have been so busy I haven't really had time to post Christmas pictures. This was Addyson's second Christmas but the first one where she was truly excited. Poor baby had had some stomach bug a couple days before that so she wasn't in the BEST of moods. She was more in the "I will do it when I want to do it". Even if her present was exciting she still wanted to take her little ole time because she didn't want to be told what to do. I'm telling you she has ATTITUDE!!!


Here is the Christmas tree on Christmas Eve after Stephen and I got everything set up.



She didn't know what to think when she walked in the room. The funny thing is is that out of all the toys she had she went to the Yo Gabba Gabba figurines that she had been playing with for a couple weeks that I just sat out for her.


Addyson didn't know what to think of her new car so she had to go around checking it out before she got in.





Not one single smile, she was so curious about everything that was there.


Addyson got a cute little Apron set. I thought it would be too big for her and she wouldn't understand but one day she brought it to me and I put it on and she loved it.




For Christmas Stephen's parents (Nana and Pappa) got Addyson a little Barbie ATV. She was really upset at first and wanted nothing to do with it but then after a little prodding she finally decided she liked it. Now she is always on it and loves to do little tricks. She can pretty much steer the thing too.





This is one of the Christmas dresses she got from her Meemaw and Great Grandpa, she looks so cute in it.


We also bought her a sleigh bed toddler bed and my parents (Grammy and Granddaddy) bought her a Dora comforter set. So now when it's time for bed we say "let's go get in your dora bed".
I didn't take a picture so I will have to do that and add that on here soon.

We had a great Christmas, it was exciting and busy but full of fun and family and food. The three things that make a holiday wonderful. I'm excited to see how much fun Addyson will have next Christmas. She came out with so much stuff, you should see our toy room.

CONGRATS!!!!!!!!

I'm so excited to announce the birth of my NEPHEW Elijah Dean!!!!! He was born on 01/11/08 at 2.21pm. He was a whopping 8lb 6oz 21 1/2 inches long.
Pray for Elijah, he had minor issues but I think things are much better now. Kristen endured so much for so long and I am so proud of her, she did an amazing job. Just pray for a fast recovery since he was born by c-section. I will keep the pictures coming but here are some for now. He looks like Dennis and look at that natural mohawk. I am so thankful I was there the whole time!!

This is Addyson's Christmas present from her Nana and Poppa.
She looks so grown up on it and everything!!! I can't believe my baby will be two in a couple months. Time sure does fly.

Thank you guys for your opinion and advice. Here's the scoop, my brother is getting married in September and we told him before they were engaged that when we get new couches we would save these for them since they will need some. Well I didn't realize that they were going to get married in Sept SOOO we have 8 months to decide on the couch. Here are some more questions..

.do you think the first one looks comfortable (dark brown)?

My idea of our living room is to paint the walls light tan, not too dark and not too light and then we have an arch where the TV is and I wanted to paint just the arch Chocolate brown. I will have to take a picture for you to see what I'm talking about. Anyways I would also like to get some sheer brown curtains for the windows. It's a really light room but I want to bring it to life. What do you think of that?

I know for a fact the lighter one is micro fiber but the first one does not say that......so i'm worried about comfort. The downside is that I found the website online and would have to order and not sit in it first. I hate doing that but cannot find anything that even remotely matches those and I fell in love with them both. Ok so there is it....8 months to decide on which one.....Oh and it has to be a sectional like that.
When I was pregnant with Addyson we would go to Stephen's friends house and his parents had the same kind of couch and I fell in love with it and ALWAYS wanted one....so that's it. What do you think??



Alright, I need some help. Please take a look at these two couches and tell me which one is your favorite and why. THANKS!!! ALSO can you tell me if one looks bigger than the other??? Maybe it's just that one picture is closer up.
