Four of Addyson's favorite things

I wanted to start a post for everyday for the whole month before Addyson's 2nd birthday. I got this inspiration from Jenny and thought I would do a whole month instead. Things have been crazy around here but I was sitting here thinking of Addyson and what a sweet angel is she to us. So I thought this is as good as anytime to start. Since I missed 3 other days I will start with 4 of Addyson's favorite things.

1) Welch's Fruit Snacks (all you have to say is fruit snacks and she giggles and makes us go get them)
2) Her Pink Butterfly blanket (this is her ultimate favorite blanket of ALL time)

3) Swimming in her pool (she swam twice today)

4) Her Pacifier (it's actually orange and green) (This has to accompany her pink blanket) The pacifier fairies will be taking it away when she turns two.

I will be posting again, and with a picture of her! Less than one month and our baby girl will be 2!

This morning when I woke up I never thought I would be posting this post today. I thought it would be a happy 12 weeks post. I woke up and had some spotting so we went to the doctor a couple days early just to get some reasurance for the weekend. We found that we had lost our precious baby just shortly after our first appointment. So this sweet picture is the last picture we will see of our third child. I go in Monday for a D&C because we opted to not have to go through the emotional pain/physcial pain of what happened last time. If you could say a prayer for us today, tomorrow, next week we would appreciate it. It is so hard for a mother and father to lose not one but two children before they got a chance at life.

Time is flying

Keep the names coming, I love some of your ideas! Also they don't all have to be boy/girl names. Just anything you have heard that is unique but fun.

We pretty much have the first name for a boy, just looking for a middle name and we pretty much have a middle name for a girl but looking for a first name.
We might just have to see this little one before we can make it final. This is so much fun!

It's a GAME

Alright I am proposing a game, it's called the Name Game.
We need help with finding the right name for our new addition coming in November.
I want you to post your ideas of the names that you think we would like.
The names have to be cute but unique, I like names that can be boy names but also girl names, or vise versa. Or just plain cute. ;)
The catch is you won't know if we are choosing your name until the baby is born. That means no family, friends and so on. We are keeping the name a secret this time around.
For those that know a couple of our ideas please don't post on here what those are. You have to come up with your own.
Also we have a couple names on our list, if those names are given by anyone and we go ahead with our ideas there is no winner for that name. That will cut out those that do know our ideas and try to "cheat" LOL
There is a reward, whoever's name we use and after we announce we will be sending you a gift card to your favorite place/restaurant.
So let the game begin!!!

We made it to 11 weeks!!

To some 11 weeks is not a huge milestone but to us its a HUGE accomplishment. We never made it to 11 weeks with our last pregnancy so making it to 11 with this one just takes some of the nervousness away. Almost, give it a couple more weeks when we are into our 2nd trimester and I will be on cloud 9.
Anyways here is our little sweet pea at 11 weeks, he/she is the size of a FIG.
I had a cute conversation with the 5 year old I watch before school every day.

Lesly: "You are having a boy"
Me: " Oh really you think it's a boy?"
Lesly: "No it's a girl-boy"
Me: " Well I can't have a girl-boy".
Lesly: "Yes, you are a girl and you are having a boy".

That made me chuckle. Looks like it's going to be a boy ;)







And because my daughter is the cutest thing on earth. LOL

New baby items

I was very proud of myself this past week. My friend told me of a garage sale that was going on in our neighborhood that had a bunch of baby items. We went to check it out and I picked up two baby items and only spent $25. These items looked fairly new and I knew I needed them for the new baby coming. I hope to find a few more things!

Easter 2009

We had a great relaxing Easter. Our little girl was so dang cute!! I found this dress and new it would look great with her hair color. She is so much older this year than last. Last year I still had a baby, this year I have a toddler. I hope everyone had a fabulous Resurection day.

10 weeks on the 10th

I'm a little nervous this time around at posting belly pictures. It seems that the second time around my tummy has grown so much faster. So I'm not too sure if at 10 weeks I should be looking like this. LOL
It could have a little to do with eating so bad last week....BUT I haven't gained much at all.

I am 10 weeks today....only 30 weeks left. This pregnancy seems to be flying by. I'm not sure why, probably because I have an almost 2 year old running around all the time. My days are filled with busyness. But here we are at 10 weeks already.

I appreciate the congrats and the prayers, they mean a lot to me.
I have a couple more weeks until I can really feel at ease so if you could please keep the prayers coming I would really be thankful.

I guess since I have posted pictures in the past I will continue to do so. But will make them smaller. lol
Plus side I have not started wearing maternity clothes yet. I can still fit in all my clothes and they are still somewhat loose on me. Probably because I lost 13 pounds before I got pregnant.

Oh and maybe poking out more means I'm going to have a boy????

Things I have forgotten about being pregnant.

Day in day out of being nauseous
Nauseous if I eat, nauseous if I don't.
Having to go to the bathroom every 30 min to the hour.
Waking up 4 - 5 times a night to go to the restroom
The tiredness
No bad indigestion YET Praise the Lord!
Giving up my coffee

These are just the pointers, the beginning. I'm sure there will be more to come later on. LOL

I'm ready for the 2nd trimester THAT'S for SURE!

Oh the JOYS of being pregnant ha ha ha
But you can be sure that I am LOVING having these symptoms, it gives me GREAT HOPE that things are moving right along.

INTRODUCING.......

We can finally announce the upcoming adventure in the Griffis household. There is a new baby coming to town on or around November 6th. We have been hiding this secret for about 5 weeks (even from the family) and after yesterday's ultrasound we feel hopeful and confident that things are good and that God will keep this baby of ours safe. So cheers to the new journey of pregnancy and all the pictures that come with it. Your prayers will be MUCH appreciated.
Oh and this is a picture our our sweet pea at 8 weeks 3 days.

Prayer request

This is an email we received from a friend. His surgery is scheduled for today. If you guys could throw up some prayers I know the family would appreciate it and so would we. They have three beautiful children also.

I received my results today and the doctors found a second tumor on one of my other parathyroids. I will have to get surgery to remove two of my four parathyroids. I have a consultative appointment with the surgeon next Tuesday morning to set up the actual surgery. I expect I will miss about a week’s worth of work. Of course I am trying to get everything taken care of as soon as possible.

Feel free to pass this information along to whomever you feel would like to pray for us. We appreciate everyone’s prayers as we go through this process.

Anniversary gift

Yesterday Stephen was off and we went out and bought an Anniversary Gift for each other .We have been wanting a Video camera for a while know and we finally were able to get it. I love it!! It's so small and cute and it's also a touch screen. Even though our 5 year anniversary is a couple weeks away we thought we would get it now.

Just a quick update

Wow, life is CRAZY! Sorry for the lack of posting. We have been quite busy around here. With a 4 month old, a 5 year old and a 21 month old running around I feel like my life is always busy.
Addyson is growing up so fast. She is SOO smart. We have been working on potty training. she still goes poop in her pants and doesn't tell us when she has to go pee. So it's more of me taking her every 15-30 minutes. Sometimes I get busy and forget then we have to change the pull up. It's soooo much fun. She loves the big toilet and prefers that over her toddler one. Again she just wants to be a big girl.
She has started saying "whoa" and she will say is soo cute! Yesterday she shook her finger at me and went "uhhuhuh". I will try to post a small video of it. I don't know where she got it, I don't think I've ever done that to her. lol
I just can't believe she will be 2 years old in just a couple months. Babies sure do grow up fast!
I am currently on my 8th week of weight watchers, it's either 7 or 8 I can't remember. Anyways I've lost 13 of my 28 pounds....so only 15 more to go. I'm excited. It really does make you feel better about yourself. My goal is to lose it all by May 1st. We will see how that goes. Sometimes I just don't feel motivated but then realize that I really really want to lose this weight. It hasn't been THAT bad though, it just makes me watch what KIND of food enters into this body. Seeing Stephen eat anything and everything and not gain one single pound frustrates me beyond belief....I wish I had that metabolism. Ha
So many things are happening this year...both of my brothers are graduating from college, one in the spring and one in the summer. Then Ryan and Elsa are getting married in September. Not to mention Addyson will be 2 in May and Stephen and I will have our 5th Anniversary 1 month from yesterday.
Well I will update another time....this is all I have time for.

My sister Kristen's best friend lost one of her little boys today. He was 13 months old. I won't share the details but just pray for the family as they go through this horrible loss. I couldn't imagine losing a child.

Please send your prayers up for Lindsey and Zach and their precious son Jamie who is now in the arms of Jesus.
Pray for peace and for comfort and for God to show himself to both of them in the face of tragedy.

Weight Loss

5 weeks ago I started Weight Watchers with a friend of mine. I decided it was time to lose the 28 pounds that needed to leave. I was at the same weight as before I got pregnant with Addyson BUT the weight just kind of shifted around to different areas......since I had surgery while I was 20 weeks pregnant I still have this pooch because when they sewed me up I was slightly rounded as it was. There is also the hips, the love handles, the thighs....and the list could go on. I was not happy with myself and needed to do something about it.
Since starting WW I have lost 9 pounds. Of course it's sometimes pretty difficult, especially when you want to go to your favorite restaurants (Olive Garden) but find out the meal you want costs 35 points and you are only allowed 21 for a day. I also see the fat that is seeping out of different kind of foods. I will say it has gotten a little easier and just seems like this is the "way of life". I have to eat smart and shop smart and in the end it pays off. I feel like I have got a grip on things and I have one of my best friends encouraging me and helping me along.

Abby, thanks for getting me through some of the tough spots and for cheering me on.

As for now, I have 19 pounds left until I reach my goal weight and I am looking forward to that. My goal date is May 1st. I better start cracking. Tae Bo here I come!!!

Thanks for being such a great sister and I'm so glad we can experience motherhood together. Let me introduce you....

I had to post a picture of our wonderful neighbors. Let me introduce you to Joey and Lindsey. Lindsey and I really hit it off when we first moved in. They were the first people on the street until we moved in a couple weeks later. They awesome friends who we adore and love to hang out with. We had them over for dinner last night and I made some yummy fried Chicken tenders with mashed potatoes, green bean casserole and rolls . ( Don't worry Abby, I didn't have as much as I would before. LOL, I did pretty well if you ask me) It was so yummy and probably something WE ALL NEEDED!! As Lindsey said, its comfort food.
Anyways, we had fun last night and hope to get together soon!!!
