INTRODUCING.......

We can finally announce the upcoming adventure in the Griffis household. There is a new baby coming to town on or around November 6th. We have been hiding this secret for about 5 weeks (even from the family) and after yesterday's ultrasound we feel hopeful and confident that things are good and that God will keep this baby of ours safe. So cheers to the new journey of pregnancy and all the pictures that come with it. Your prayers will be MUCH appreciated.
Oh and this is a picture our our sweet pea at 8 weeks 3 days.

Prayer request

This is an email we received from a friend. His surgery is scheduled for today. If you guys could throw up some prayers I know the family would appreciate it and so would we. They have three beautiful children also.

I received my results today and the doctors found a second tumor on one of my other parathyroids. I will have to get surgery to remove two of my four parathyroids. I have a consultative appointment with the surgeon next Tuesday morning to set up the actual surgery. I expect I will miss about a week’s worth of work. Of course I am trying to get everything taken care of as soon as possible.

Feel free to pass this information along to whomever you feel would like to pray for us. We appreciate everyone’s prayers as we go through this process.

Anniversary gift

Yesterday Stephen was off and we went out and bought an Anniversary Gift for each other .We have been wanting a Video camera for a while know and we finally were able to get it. I love it!! It's so small and cute and it's also a touch screen. Even though our 5 year anniversary is a couple weeks away we thought we would get it now.

Just a quick update

Wow, life is CRAZY! Sorry for the lack of posting. We have been quite busy around here. With a 4 month old, a 5 year old and a 21 month old running around I feel like my life is always busy.
Addyson is growing up so fast. She is SOO smart. We have been working on potty training. she still goes poop in her pants and doesn't tell us when she has to go pee. So it's more of me taking her every 15-30 minutes. Sometimes I get busy and forget then we have to change the pull up. It's soooo much fun. She loves the big toilet and prefers that over her toddler one. Again she just wants to be a big girl.
She has started saying "whoa" and she will say is soo cute! Yesterday she shook her finger at me and went "uhhuhuh". I will try to post a small video of it. I don't know where she got it, I don't think I've ever done that to her. lol
I just can't believe she will be 2 years old in just a couple months. Babies sure do grow up fast!
I am currently on my 8th week of weight watchers, it's either 7 or 8 I can't remember. Anyways I've lost 13 of my 28 pounds....so only 15 more to go. I'm excited. It really does make you feel better about yourself. My goal is to lose it all by May 1st. We will see how that goes. Sometimes I just don't feel motivated but then realize that I really really want to lose this weight. It hasn't been THAT bad though, it just makes me watch what KIND of food enters into this body. Seeing Stephen eat anything and everything and not gain one single pound frustrates me beyond belief....I wish I had that metabolism. Ha
So many things are happening this year...both of my brothers are graduating from college, one in the spring and one in the summer. Then Ryan and Elsa are getting married in September. Not to mention Addyson will be 2 in May and Stephen and I will have our 5th Anniversary 1 month from yesterday.
Well I will update another time....this is all I have time for.

My sister Kristen's best friend lost one of her little boys today. He was 13 months old. I won't share the details but just pray for the family as they go through this horrible loss. I couldn't imagine losing a child.

Please send your prayers up for Lindsey and Zach and their precious son Jamie who is now in the arms of Jesus.
Pray for peace and for comfort and for God to show himself to both of them in the face of tragedy.

Weight Loss

5 weeks ago I started Weight Watchers with a friend of mine. I decided it was time to lose the 28 pounds that needed to leave. I was at the same weight as before I got pregnant with Addyson BUT the weight just kind of shifted around to different areas......since I had surgery while I was 20 weeks pregnant I still have this pooch because when they sewed me up I was slightly rounded as it was. There is also the hips, the love handles, the thighs....and the list could go on. I was not happy with myself and needed to do something about it.
Since starting WW I have lost 9 pounds. Of course it's sometimes pretty difficult, especially when you want to go to your favorite restaurants (Olive Garden) but find out the meal you want costs 35 points and you are only allowed 21 for a day. I also see the fat that is seeping out of different kind of foods. I will say it has gotten a little easier and just seems like this is the "way of life". I have to eat smart and shop smart and in the end it pays off. I feel like I have got a grip on things and I have one of my best friends encouraging me and helping me along.

Abby, thanks for getting me through some of the tough spots and for cheering me on.

As for now, I have 19 pounds left until I reach my goal weight and I am looking forward to that. My goal date is May 1st. I better start cracking. Tae Bo here I come!!!

Let me introduce you....

I had to post a picture of our wonderful neighbors. Let me introduce you to Joey and Lindsey. Lindsey and I really hit it off when we first moved in. They were the first people on the street until we moved in a couple weeks later. They awesome friends who we adore and love to hang out with. We had them over for dinner last night and I made some yummy fried Chicken tenders with mashed potatoes, green bean casserole and rolls . ( Don't worry Abby, I didn't have as much as I would before. LOL, I did pretty well if you ask me) It was so yummy and probably something WE ALL NEEDED!! As Lindsey said, its comfort food.
Anyways, we had fun last night and hope to get together soon!!!

This is MY GIRL!

This is my beautiful baby girl. She is not so much of a baby anymore. I love seeing her grow up and learn new things. Today I went to change her diaper and she got so mad so I told her that she needed to stop using diapers and start going potty in the big girl pot. So I took her in there and she went potty and POOP! I was so proud. I told her not to potty while she took her nap but to wait to go on the big girl potty. She was pretty happy about that.
She loves, absolutely loves my cell phone. I will walk away and she will snatch it up and run. She can be so ornery sometimes. Its so hard not to laugh but I do hold it in and tell her to be a good girl. Last night she went into the kitchen and I told her to come back, well she didn't, go figure. I started counting and usually she comes back at 2 but this time I got to three and she started crying....I went in there and found her in her booster seat with the belt latched. lol she couldn't get out. I had to laugh.
She is just a delight to all of us!

She gives you these wonderful smiles that you just can't resist. She is a ball of energy who gets into everything. BUT she really is so good and will eventually obey if I keep at it. I can't believe our little girl is 4 months away from being 2 years old. This time has gone by so fast.

I just can't imagine our lives without her. She lights up everything around us and has a inner beauty that I can't wait to see when she gets a little older.



Yes, having Addyson around sure does make life interesting. She is growing up so fast.

My weekend in Tyler by Addyson

Last weekend after mommy and I put Lesly on the bus mommy made me get in the car and sit there for 3 hours. She kept telling me we were going to see Aunt Kiss, Uncle Dennis, Grammy and cousin Elijah. Every time she told me who we were going to see I got this big smile on my face because I miss them so much. I didn't really understand who cousin Elijah was but smiled anyways because mommy likes to get a reaction out of me. We finally stopped and mommy got all excited and tried to get me out of the car as fast as she could. She got a little mad at me because I tried to pull my arms out of the straps while she was driving....for some reason she doesn't like it but it makes me feel more comfortable. Grammy met us by the car and I got excited because I hadn't seen her in a week, I missed her. Mommy ran inside and picked up this baby.....I was kind of jealous because normally everyone is paying attention to me instead of a little baby that was sleeping. It was very boring because everyone was passing this baby back and forth and not holding me. So I decided to get them all back and get into everything and anything. I spilled Grammy's water all over me as I was running away from her. Mom didn't like that one bit. I was just wanting them to play with me instead of that baby. Aunt Kiss finally let me hold the baby, mommy kept telling me he was my cousin, I wasn't too sure what that meant but I went along with holding him. It was really fun, he just sat in my arms and didn't hit me or move around a lot. I got to hug him and kiss him and rub his hair. Mommy told me to whisper a secret to him and I did. I told him that I was his big cousin and that I would always take care of him, especially when the mommy and daddy's got upset because he did something he shouldn't of. I told him that we would stick together and I would show him the ropes. No one knew what I was saying but he understood because he smiled at me. I think we are going to be best buds. I kind of understand what they were all excited over. My cousin is a pretty cool baby. We had to leave the next day but mommy said we would see them again next month. I can't wait to see him, maybe he will play blocks with me. I forgot all about him when I got home because my daddy was there and I missed him. Next time I hope he can come with us. He pays attention to me.....

January 27th 2009

Today is a very special day for us, many of you might just think it's just another Tuesday in January but to us it's the day our precious baby was due. Of course there are many factors and who knows if he/she would of been born today but today was the day we had been anticipating for 11 short weeks, too short if you ask me.
This isn't going to be some sad, I'm depressed, pity me blog because I feel that today is a special day I will always hold in my heart. Yes, it's sad to not be holding my baby BUT I know he/she is safe in the hands of Jesus.
I think I've grown a lot in the last month or so, I mean a month ago if it had fallen on this day I would of been a mess. But this year holds many promises and many blessings and I will not allow myself to fall down and hope someone else comes along and picks me up and makes things better. God has a mighty plan for each of us and I will grasp on to that and continue believing in HIM because there is no greater HOPE than that!!!

Yes, today is a special day in the hearts of the Griffis family. I can't wait for the day that I will be united with such a special child.
