Sleeping problems....

Get this, Thursday night she slept through the night from 12:30-7:30. The only problem was that it was because she was laying on my chest on the couch. Go figure, the only night she sleeps so long and I can't even sleep in my own bed. She wouldn't let me put her in her crib, and when she did fall asleep and I would put her in there she woke up like 5 minutes later and screamed bloody murder. I wish I could put her on her stomach and not worry...... Last night she finally went to sleep about 1 and woke up at 3 and then slept until 7:20.....that was nice. But once again I had a hard time getting her to sleep in her crib at 12....we fought and fought, but when she does wake up in the middle of the night she is okay with putting herself to sleep if she is not totally out. She just has a problem getting to sleep to begin with...what am I doing wrong???

1 Month Old

My baby girl is 1 month old today, oh how this last month has flown by. I love the very beginning stage of life but it's great seeing her interact more. Plus I love the sleeping longer during the nights. I can't wait for her to smile more, coo more, laugh more. What I don't want is to go back to work and miss seeing her those hours out of the day. I need to be with my baby girl..........
I wish I could post pictures, I have so many of them. She is adorable as ever. Right now she is sitting in daddy's lap sleeping, it's so adorable and sweet.
Happy 1 month Addyson Faith

Night time Update

Wow, so I've been extremely busy this past week. My Grandpa came down from Indiana to visit his new great granddaughter. So we have been over there everyday that he has been in town. All my pictures are on my camera that I have but I left the cord to transfer them at my parents, I seem to leave everything important over there, it's a good thing I remembered to bring Addyson home with me.
Addyson actually slept through the night 2 times this week. I have gotten her spoiled to the point that she won't go to sleep in her bassinett and she won't go to sleep if she is not totally out from me rocking her. I know I know I'm new at this and I hate to hear her cry. One night this week we brought her home and left her in her car seat by our bed as to not wake her and be up all night. This was at 11:30, well she didn't wake up until 6:30am the next morning. I was so amazed and felt great. The second night I decided if she was so out the first night I might just try taking her out and putting her in her crib, this time she woke up screaming and wouldn't go to sleep until mommy fed and rocked her. I then fell asleep while doing this and we didn't wake up until 4am, then we had to start all over again. That was a fun night. Well I decided we really needed to break this cycle and get her to sleep in her crib so last night I fed her and changed her and put her in her crib at 11:30, she cried and cried and cried, but then she would stop and close her eyes and then cry and cry and then slowly it got to where she was crying less and staying quiet more. I fell asleep during this quiet spell and woke up at 1:30 and she was out. She didn't wake up until about 5am so I changed her, and fed her and then put her in her bed and she moved around a little and made her little grunting noises but then fell asleep until 9:15am. So maybe this will get a little better. I have learned it's okay for them to cry and I guess it's working, she is sleeping in her crib. yeah its only been one night but I feel like I've accomplished something wonderful, hopefully it will last tonight. I'm hoping and praying that by August when I go back to work she will be sleeping through the night.
She is so wonderful though, so alert and she has so many funny expressions, she smiles and makes noises and is extremely strong. She almost rolled over the other day. I know, she is growing up so fast. She will be 1 month on Saturday, seems I was just in labor having her. Her face is already changing a little, and she is fitting better in her car seat, you don't notice these things until you go back and look at pictures.
One night last week my sister came over and spent the night and took care of Addyson after I would feed her. It was nice to get some sleep, although I still had to wake up and feed her. But I really appriciate Kristen doing that for me, it was nice to get a little break. Hopefully she will be sleeping through the night every night pretty soon.
Okay well laundry and cleaning can't get done with me sitting here so I'm going to start all that. I will be posting pictures sometime soon. Have a great day

Tummy Time

The Dr. said to make sure Addyson gets "Tummy Time", I think its funny how she said it. Anyways we gave her some tummy time today and I think she really liked it. Of course mommy loved taking the pictures. She is such a doll. I took her to work today and showed her off, everyone loved her. Sunday afternoon I actually went in to work and helped Katy out on some things that she was doing for me. It was nice to take care of things at work, hadn't been there for a while. I miss the interaction with people, I really love who I work with. Stephen has a cold, or so we hope it's just a cold, and I'm worried Addyson is going to catch it. So I'm really keeping an eye on her and just praying that nursing her will be enough to keep her immune system up. She is really enjoying nursing so thats really good. She still doesn't fit too well in newborn clothes, so she wears a lot of onsies and newborn diapers. I just have a small baby on my hands. Hopefully she won't grow too quickly, I'll miss this stage. We are still working on getting her nights and days straight, last night she was up from 12-2 just awake as can be. We watched a whole movie during that time, Ha! I think it was Friday night she stayed up until 4:40am, and slept until 9:30. That was exhausting!!! But we are getting used to it and I love when she just looks at me in the eyes. She smiles a lot, and I know it's not just gas, she is such a good happy baby. :) My Grandpa is coming down from Indiana on Friday!! I'm so excited to show him Addyson, he is going to love her. Okay well I hope you all enjoy your week, it seems they go by way too fast.

A funny story

I forgot about a quite amusing story that happened at the hospital when I had Addyson. Of course there were a couple stories BUT I'm only going to share this one for now. A couple hours after I had Addyson the nurse came in and said "I'm not sure how you want to handle this but you have tested positive for Hepatitis B (sp?) and your baby will need an extra shot. I asked her how I could of tested positive for something like that when I have given tons of blood and she said you could of picked it up in an infection. I think she was whispering because she didn't want anyone hearing, I guess you could get it other ways. Anyways so I'm sitting there holding my baby wondering if I have infected her along with infecting Stephen and so on and so forth. I also was curious on how I could of gotten it when I didn't have it when I first got pregnant. I thought maybe it could of been the surgery back in January but then thought why it wasn't caught when I have given blood after that. Well then later that evening I was told that my blood type was O- and I would need that rogan (sp?) shot. I was just a tad confused becuase I know I am O+ and even my mom said that I was O+. Anyways, so we are a little nervous about it all and questioning all this. I had my blood taken again on Thursday morning to confirm what type I really was. Well on Thursday my doctor came in and asked me how everything was and I explained what I had been told and she was a little upset that they didn't tell her any of this. So she said she would get to the bottom of it. Well she comes back a few minutes later and tells me that when they filled out the form they got their negative and positve signs mixed up, so instead of putting on there I tested - hepatitis and O+ they put +hepatitis and O-. Talk about mix up, I mean don't you think they should of consulted the doctor before they told me that I had this disease??? I was so worried about Stephen and the baby and it really scared me. But now I can look back and laugh about it. It's a good thing they figured their "little" mistake out. yeah so that was something I just remembered, it's funny how much you forget when you have a baby. Here is one picture I just took of my sleeping baby.

2 Weeks Old

Addyson is 2 weeks today and such a joy, even through the screaming at night. Last night she did really good other than wanting to just be awake from 2-4. Not sure what was wrong, but she was content on not sleeping. I went to the Dr. today and lost 25 pounds in 2 weeks, whoo hoo, can't wait to shed the rest plus some. I would LOVE to get down to what I was before I got married. :) Here are some fun pictures. She is just darling.

Some news

So it's been a couple days since I've updated you all. I am sorry I don't have any pictures, I left my camera at my parents house on Thursday. I'm going to get it on Wednesday when I go for my Dr. Apt. But yeah I'm sad that I haven't been able to capture any cute moments from sweet Addyson.
She is doing good we are getting the hang of the eating and she seems to want to eat every moment of being awake and then she will fall back to sleep. Of course that's just during the day, during the night she likes to stay up longer. Figures she would have her nights and days mixed up. When she does eat she sounds like she is starving to death the way she sucks. It's so funny. She smiles a lot, I know people say it's gas but I don't believe it at all, I will stroke her cheek or her head and she will give me this big smile. It's so cute. Before you can snap the picture though she makes her mouth back in that O. She does sound like she snores sometimes when she is sleeping, I'm going to ask the Dr, if she is just congested or something, I hope not. The last couple nights have been rough though, last night she just screamed and screamed and screamed. She would act like she was hungry and I would feed her and she would act like she was starving, then she would be done and not 30 minutes later she would be screaming and want more. I think she was awake from 7pm-1:30am, and most of that was just crying. I didn't know what to do and I didn't know why she was crying, it broke my heart. I finally got her to sleep and when I laid her down she actually stayed a sleep until about 2:45, and then again at 5:30 and then 9. She has been sleeping most the day now, probably because she wore herself out last night. My poor little girl. I hope its not colic and I hope her little tummy wasn't hurting. She seems to be doing good today, and smiling away.
Stephen went back to work today and I'm lost without him, he helped me so much. I haven't even taken a shower today, I guess thats the normal sometimes. She is asleep on the couch and I don't want to leave her.....so I guess we wait until she wakes up again.
Oh and this little stinker is extremely strong. I was burping her the other day and she lifted her head AND when you lay her on her back she rolls to her side, so I have a feeling she will be rolling over pretty fast, it's like she is trying to push herself over, it's wierd. she is precious.
We went to visit my parents (Grammy and Grandy) on Thursday evening and Stephens parents (Nana and Poppa) on Saturday afternoon. She basically slept the whole time but they enjoyed holding her. She is going to be spoiled. Yesterday Stephen and I went grocery shopping with her, she was good, of course she slept but it was nice getting out. Before that some friends had come into town and they came over to see her, later we went for ice cream and bad mommy left her Pacifier at home and she decided it was time to wake up and cry, so that was fun. Things you must never forget.
She likes to poop right as we are changing her diaper so we not only mess up a new diaper but we have poop on clothes and on the changing table. This morning she peed as I was changing her diaper. Such fun! Ha
Okay well I hope you enjoyed this little update, and as soon as my camera gets picked up I will post more wonderful cute pictures. I hope you all have a wonderful day.
Congrats to friends Lindsay and BJ on finding out they are expecting twins!!!! You guys are great parents and I know that this surprise is just another great adventure for you guys. I'll be praying for you.

Baby Update

Addyson had her first Dr. apt today. Everything went well except she lost some weight and is down to 7lbs even. The Dr. said it's nothing to worry about becasue she had a hard start to eating the first couple days but she wants to see her back up next week when she goes in for her 2 week apt. She is eating better, but it still takes screaming for her to actually start eating. It's frustrating at times but at least after a couple minutes she does eat, and then its all good from there. You never really think that there will be any kind of problem when you have a baby, but it's been an interesting time I must say trying to get used to everything. This morning we had her apt at 10 and Stephen had hit the snooze a couple times without me knowing so we ended up being 5 minutes late. That was the first time with having to get ready and get the baby ready and be somewhere at a designated time. I felt exhausted and it was only 10am. LOL Last night was rough though, Addyson had a hard time staying asleep, I felt like I kept my arm over the bassinett all night putting the pacifier back in.
Other than that she is wonderful, she seems to sleep all day long, but it's great when she opens her eyes and looks at all of us. She also seems to dream a lot, she had these little faces that she makes when she is sleeping, she smiles, frowns, wimpers, it's so cute. She also sleeps with her mouth open, just like her momma. I wonder if she will talk her in sleep too :)
I don't think I told you this but she has long skinny feet like her daddy and a big toe like her mom. It's so funny because Stephen always mentioned that when I was pregnant, saying that she probably will have my feet (they are wide and my big toe and pinky toe are funny looking) we came to the conclusion that God has a great sense of humor. She also has this stubborn streak in her (don't know where THAT came from) and if you try to wake her up you have absolutely no luck at all. You can move her in any direction, even change her diaper, and she won't wake up. She opens her eyes to slits and then closes them again and ignores you. It's so funny. She doesn't like her hands confined either, she fights with you and flales when she can't get her hands in her mouth. It's so funny how you can see the personality so early on. I can't believe my baby is a week, before I know if she will be a year old. BUT every stage is going to be wonderful, I just love this stage right now. Oh so precious, I can't get enough pictures, as you guys can tell. We just love her so much, and can't believe that we have this amazing little girl. She is a week today, and is technically due tomorrow. A week ago I had just had this precious baby and now she is here in our home sitting on daddy's lap just laying there like the most content baby in the world. I feel so blessed and am so thankful for this baby, and for my husband and for everything that God has given us. I couldn't be happier.
