Week 29: To pee or not to pee...
Fetal development in pregnancy week 29: fetus in seventh month If you’ve been feeling butterflies moving around in your belly, it’s not just your run-of-the-mill pre-birth performance anxiety. No, it’s your amazing baby with a case of the hiccups: a fairly common occurrence at this point resulting from practicing breathing for their big birthday. In addition, to getting a round of butterfly-like hiccups, your little swimmer has arduously managed to accumulate enough baby fat to account for nearly 3.5% of their overall body weight. Yeah, compared to we adults, it’s not a lot, but when they’re little like that—it’s certainly a healthy (and warming) accomplishment in its way. Another fantastic accomplishment: your baby's spleen is now in charge of hematopoiesis—the 10 dollar name for the process involved in building up certain important blood components. Another fantastic-accomplishment: your little monkey has been peeing into their amniotic sac for a little while now (this is why potty training takes a while) and if you didn’t know, actually swallows it along with the rest of the amniotic fluid. Although the concept is nasty, their urine is sterile and as part of the amniotic fluid base, is replaced several times throughout the day. So if you didn’t know before, now you can tell people, that yes, you drank your own urine—you were still in the womb, but nonetheless you’ve been there.
29 weeks already, wow this past week seemed to fly. I can't wait to hit 30 weeks and know that I only have 10 left. Time is flying.
This week has been so hard to get out of bed. I'm not sure if it's the time change or the fact that I'm just getting more and more tired as the weeks go on. I'm so ready to have this baby. She has been having the hicups more and kicking and stretching more. We can't wait to be able to see the little foot or fist, that will be exciting. I'm sure it will be pretty soon if not sometime in the coming week. My ribs have been hurting so bad, especially at work when I'm trying to work. It's so hard to concentrate because of the pain. I think her foot is just pressed against my right side all day long. Between that and the back aches......whew it makes for a long day.
So they say that you need to start counting the kicks and moves every hour, and if they don't move10 times in one hour to call your Doctor. What if she is sleeping, she does that sometimes you know. Just another thing to get worried about. She seems to be doing fine, I think she is running out of room though becuase she doesn't seem to twist and turn like she used to. Just sort of stretches and kicks occasionally. I think she moved to, but I'm not sure where she is now. I just get different punches in different places. I do think her head is still mostly down becuase that's where the hicups are coming from. It's just a neat experience all the way around, except if I could go back I would ask the Lord to change it to 6 months or so because 9 months is an awefully long time to wait.
We are going to Rascal Flats tonight, I really enjoy their music, I just hope it doesn't rain. They say there is only a small chance so we should be good. I hope I can last that long! LOL
My brother is home from college for Spring Break but I've been so tired and working that I only got to see him on Friday night. But I'm sure he is enjoying sleeping in and all that jazz.
Okay well I need to wake up somehow, I can't wait til I can have my coffee again!!! You guys have a wonderful day. Sorry I don't have too much to update, nothing trully exciting is going on right now. Oh and here is another picture I took for 29 weeks, I really really despise it actually but I'm only putting it on here becuase you guys would want to see it. I just seem to be getting bigger and bigger every day. :)
