Fun Times

This is what happens when your husband goes with your brothers, brother-in-law and dad to visit your uncle to watch a Georgia Bulldog game.
Do I need to keep an eye on him more or what?

Prettiest boy

So I HAVE to do it again, I have to post a picture of the prettiest boy ever.
Jackson Powers

10 Weeks

Well I'm finally 10 weeks along, crazy how time seem to be going to slow but then on the other side it's going so fast. Before I know it I will be half way there. I'm already hoping for a fast pregnancy, my back is already hurting.....LOL
I can't believe that in maybe 6-7 weeks we can find out what we are going to have...that seems so crazy to me. I'm starting to feel a little better, I don't think I've come home and crashed at all this week, so that is a huge improvement for me. I'm actually pretty pumped that I'm feeling better. I hate feeling like my body just can't do anything else. It still is very hard to get up at 5:30 and work til 4, but I'm praying it just becomes a routine again. 2 more weeks until the end of my first trimester, it's just around the corner. I have another Dr. App on the 13th of November, I'm not sure what they are going to do since this is my 2nd apt, so if any of you remember can you please give me a heads up, I like to know before I get there. LOL I hate Dr.'s
Well Stephen, Wade and I are leaving tomorrow at 7:30 on our journey to GA. There we will stay until Monday and head out to TN for the Chalet. I believe we will be back home on the 10th. I'm so excited and happy that it's finally almost here. There is just so much stuff going on that it will be nice to just sit back and enjoy a nice vacation. I hear its like in the 30's and 50's right now....I love cold weather.
Please pray that our drive up there is good and we have no problems.
I can't procastinate any longer as I have so much work to do before 4.

I hope everyone has a nice week and the weather continues to be beautiful!

Happy Birthday Dear

Today is my wonderfu, sweet, loving, adoring husbands 28th b'day.
He is everything i've ever hoped for and everything i've ever needed.
Stephen,
I thank God for you daily and for the love that you have given me.
I can't wait to see what a wonderful father you are going to be to our child
I know we have so many more years down the road to be together and to be a family.
I know God has a special plan for us and we just need to trust him. Thank you for
being the man that I need and no matter what I'm extremely proud of who
you are and who you are becoming.

Happy Birthday sweetheart, I love you.

A little update

Okay so I have gotten some good ideas on baby names.

We are still almost positive about the girl name (Addyson Kailee)

But here are some ideas that I got from some people and I'm going to try them out.

What do you think about these three names?:

Reese Parker
Reese Ashton
Reese Andrew

I want to thank everyone for their help and I would love some more ideas to go with Reese. Stephen pretty much has his heart set on Reese for a first name.
I'm sure we can find something good to go with it.

i'm secretly praying for a girl ;)

So i'm getting kind of thick around the middle and it's in this stage where you don't want to look fat but you aren't big enough to look pregnant, it's frustrating. Especially when your normal clothes feel like they are closing in on you.......so uncomfortable...:(
Also did any of you get the question of the day "how are you feeling?" all day long when you were working while pregnant?
Do they want the truth that i'm sick to my stomach all day long and miserable, ready to fall asleep at the drop of the hat....or do they want me to say "i'm okay"?
I think i'm going to hurt the next person that asks me that question.

So that is that...I only have 6 more days of work before vacation and I'm so looking forward to it.
That is what is pulling me through these next 2 weeks.....
Other then that everything is GREAT!!!!
Until next time, have a great week.

I'm tired

So I have to tell you that getting up at 5:30 every morning for 5 days straight every week is really hard when you are pregnant and you feel sick ALL day long. This part has really drained me and everyday I get home at 4:30 I end up sleeping til 6 and then it's off to bed by 10 again.
I feel like i'm worth nothing right now, and I'm praying that the next 4 weeks go by really fast.
It's wierd thinking about being pregnant, but after I heard the heartbeat and saw our little baby it became more real. I still can't believe it's really happening. Today at work the CFO asked me if I was pregnant and I told him yes and he gave me a hug and congratulated me. For a minute there I thought he was going to rub my tummy. I'm not sure if i'm going to like that very much, especially when I get really big. A friend from work is going to get me a shirt for Christmas that says " It's not a genie in a bottle so don't rub me". I think that would be hilarious.
Anyways I just thought I would share my thoughts while I was still awake. Please pray for me, as I'm having a really time working feeling like I do.
Thanks for everyone's comments and thoughts and prayers, I appriciate it all so much.
You guys are awesome!!!

Names

Well since I told you we were going to have a baby I might as well tell you the names we have been thinking about.

If it's a girl we would like to name her:
Addyson Kailee

If it's a boy we like the name:
Reese
Ashton

But we don't have any middle names for those.
If you have any idea please feel free to share!
Thanks for the many congrats and the prayers, we both appriciate it all so much.

Have a great Hump Day.

The Cat is now out of the bag!

So we've been keeping a secret from all of you bloggers since October 2nd and finally we are ready to share it with the world.
Stephen and I are expecting our first baby!! Crazy I know...it was a HUGE shock to us as well.
We found out on the 2nd of October but I couldn't get into the Dr. until today and so after looking at everything and seeing that the baby is just fine, and the heart beat is strong and he/she is just wonderful we decided it was time to share this wonderous news. Aside from being sick for the past 3-4 weeks, it's been a blessing upon us. God is amazing and I know that He has been waiting for just the right time for us to be parents, and this is it. Please pray that everything goes according to His plan and we have our perfect little baby next year.
I'm officially 7 weeks and 5 days. ( I thought I was farther along but the measurments say this) and we are due May 31, 2006.

There is some bad news, or some down news as I like to call it. I was informed today that I have an almost size of a football sist on my right ovary (14cm). I'm really nervous about this, but the Dr. is going to keep me under watch. I'm going to have another ultrasound around 15 weeks..so I will probably get a couple more than usually. I'm excited about that because I can see the heartbeat again. It's uncomfortable and the Dr. said I may need a C-Section when the time comes if the Sist is still there so they can take out both the baby and the sist at the same time, I'm praying it goes down like she thinks it will.
So please pray that everything works out there. She said it won't hurt the baby but I will be in some pain if it does rupture. Some great news on such a great day huh?
But we are excited and can't wait to see what God has for us.

Thanks for reading this and being excited along with us. Thrilled cannot explain the feelings we have now. For now here is a picture of our little blob aka our little baby bean.

Just a small night post

It's late, and I'm tired and I'm ready for my vacation. Only 13 more work days and i'm free to relax in the mountains.
I can already picture it:

Sitting in the hottub staring at the nightlights of the city with the mountains in the background while it's crisp and cool outside with some hot chocolate. Now that's a dream come true.

Well I have a big long day ahead of me tomorrow so I'm going to hit the sack. I'll post more tomorrow. Sleep tight all of Ya'll.

A case of the Monday's

This weekend was a nice relaxing one for us. It's nice to have those once in a while.
There was quite a bit of drama going on, but I guess you can't always have a perfect weekend.
It was fun nonetheless.

The rain has really been coming down today, it's a mess outside.
It actually took me and my car pool buddy 30 minutes to get into the parking lot at work today. We were in the area, just couldn't figure out how to get in without going through high water. I thought, this is crazy, why are we fighting to get in to have the chance to get stuck....we are sooo smart.
Hopefully we will get to leave early because we are in a bad flooding area, it would be nice to take off a bit early.
Nothing new going on, just wanted to take a break and post something, I'll try to post more tomorrow. I hope everyone stays dry and remember if the water looks high don't try to drive through it.
Have a great Monday.

I thought I would share a pretty rose I found on google.com

Happy Birthday to my brother

I have one quick post and then I'm out for the night.

Today is my brother Ryan's 18th b'day. I can't believe he is 18 already. It seems like he was just this little red headed kid who hated it when I pulled his hair. The little boy who always threw himself on the floor screaming when he didn't get his way. The little boy who was in his terrible two's for many many years. I really felt for my mom up until he was probably 15 or 16. He has turned into this amazing man of God whom I really look up to. It's funny i'm 8 years older and I look up to him, I never would seen that coming, he is supposed to be looking up to me. Ha
Well today is special non the less and I love him as much as I can love my brother plus a little more. I'm blessed because he can always cheer me up and encourage me and just listen to me rant and rave. Yes he is very special to me.
I love you Ryan and Happy 18th B'day.

PS: Now you can meet me for lunch!!!!!!!

Here is a picture of him and his wonderful girlfriend. I love this one.

Try it-It works!

Jackson in his Astro outfit

Stephen and Michelle

Oh how the weekends go by.....

Alright so I guess it is time for an update from me.

We went to San Antonio this past weekend to visit Natalie and Jason and baby Jackson. He is the sweetest baby in the world and also the cutest baby BOY in the whole world. :)
On Saturday Natalie had to go sing at a wedding and so Stephen and I babysat Jackson for about an hour and a half. I was holding him and he was trying to sit up so I sat him up against the couch and got this cute picture of him holding the remote to the TV and one little finger on a button along with his other hand on the top of his baby bottle. He looked like a little man enjoying his Saturday off. Too bad it was on Stephen's cell phone or else I would of posted it here, I was so proud of that picture. LOL
We really had a wonderful time up there, i love seeing how much Jackson has grown between the times we do see him. The next time probably won't be until Thanksgiving and by then he will be 6 months, how time flies by. Thanks Natalie and Jason for having us, you guys rock.

My car was also in the shop on Friday again......I was told to sell that car fast before it fell apart on me....I thought it was doing that right now. So Stephen and I are in the process of deciding on what to do. Hopefully God will point us in the right direction.

There is really nothing much going on, just the same old things on a day to day basis. We have about 6 weeks until our vacation and I'm so ready for it. It's been a long year.
Alright well I need to get to work, it's a Monday again and another week has begun. I hope everyone had an enjoyable weekend and have a good week.

Howdie

I know it's been a while, but not that much going on in our life.

I do have a date with the dentist on Wednesday, it's something i'm NOT looking forward to.
I MAY need a root canal, they won't know til they get in...plus the tooth is in the front SO those shots are the worst. I know it sounds crazy but I had NO idea that I had one that bad.
So pray they don't have to hold me down as they try to numb it, because shots are not my friend.

Our cat is insane, seriously he's worse then a little kid!

How?????

"Not Guilty by reason of insanity", yep that makes so much more sense after a mother drowned her FIVE children one at at time.
The people know how the government works thats for sure.
How can you be NOT GUILTY after what you did?
It's a good thing God is the judge.

Almost the weekend

Well it's official one more month until I'm halfway to 50. I know I know I sound like such a pessemist. I'm usually so optomistic so this is odd for me to be acting this way. I see myself turning 25 and 30 doesn't sound as old as it did back when I was 18. I look back and I thought I would be married, have 2 kids by now, own my own home and drive the car of my dreams. One of those things came to pass but I guess it's not the right time for the other things. That's alright I 'll wait, it's just that waiting is NOT a good quality that I have.

Not much else going on here, just work and work and work.
I told you guys that we got a kitten and that he was soo sweet. Well he still is sweet, that is when he is sleeping. No really he is cute and loveable but sometimes he can be a little brat. I call him my little brat cat. For instance he keeps trying to push the keys on the keyboard....you say to yourself he probably is just trying to walk across it but no I tell you this cat is smart. He knows I dont want him on the laptop so he hides behind it and sticks one paw around and tries to type keys...but he misses so he peaks around the corner and tries to find the keys. It's hilarious. He also likes my mother-in-laws dining room table downstairs. She doesnt like it so much that he walks on top of it and knocks the centerpiece over. So we have started keeping him in our room with the door shut....well every time you even crack the door he tries to get through it and sometimes he is FAST. He will run downstairs and hide under the table because he knows we are coming after him. It's quite humerous at times, but times when I'm trying to just relax and he is biting my fingers or biting my toes.....and then of course the times when you are trying to sleep and he walks on top of your face. Yep it's great having a kitten, I think you should ALL get one.

Alright well I feel like I'm chasing after a little kid (I guess techinically he is my baby) so for now I need to go find him....Stephen opened the door and he escaped. Have a great evening.

Things go round and round

I think I might of confused a few people about our upcoming vacation.
We aren't going to TN until the late fall, for now we are just sticking around
home and taking care of things that need to be taken care of.
Which will be nice because we will just get to relax and do whatever we want.
I'm excited about not having to get up at 5:30 in the morning anymore.

This week has been very stressful on me, my car started acting up and jerking every
time it went from 1st to 2nd gear. We took it in and they flushed out the transmission
and that didn't solve the problem, it just made the problem worse. Instead of just jerking
from 1st to 2nd it started jerking from 2nd to 3rd gear also. So I took it in yesterday and
they had to replace a valve of some kind. I have my car back and I'm so grateful that it's fixed, a little sad at how much we had to spend to fix it but none the less hopefully it will last until it's paid off next year. I hate car problems, it's just something you can't get around.
Atleast I have had my car pool buddy and she has been extremely understanding
and has driven every day this week. Oh how i'm grateful for kind hearted people.

So my car is taken care of and I can now drive it with a peaceful mind and I'm going to pray that nothing else happens to it, it always seems like one thing after another, especially when you think you have gotten ahead. Oh well God provides and for that I'm extremely blessed.

Tomorrow is my last day for 10 days, I have gotten just about everything that I need to get done at work. I have a few things left tomorrow, and then smooth sailing next week.
It would be awfully nice to not have to work, yes that would be great fun.

Alright i'm going to get some things done, if you all don't remember last year how obsessed I was with Big Brother 6, look out for this year. Big Brother 7-All Stars starts tonight!!!!! Whoo hoo.
Have a blessed weekend.

Life is good

Well it's been a while since a real post so here it goes.
Life is really busy lately. Stephen has gotten a temporary promotion until the end of August, he will be a fill in manager at one of the stores until it closes down at the end of August. It's a good step in the door so this will give him the opportunity to move forward come September. He is not looking forward to the drive but it's only 2 months. I'm really proud of him.
A major accomplishment for us is that we signed up for a membership at a gym and we work out every evening after work on the weekends. I'm really excited about getting into shape.
You should be proud, it's hard when you are tired after a long day of work.
God has been really good to us lately, well all the time really. We only have 2 more months until our major credit card will be paid off, and then we can start saving for a house. That makes me excited, becuase I can't wait to have our own place.
Work is work, nothing new there....just every day things. But thats all right, it pays the bills.
Well the heat has finally gotten worse, I hate it with a passion and hopefully one day we will live in TN, I love that state.
Alright well I have a meeting in an hour and I need to get things accomplished. I hope everyone has a happy friday. Have fun this weekend.
My sister and brother in law are coming down tomorrow, so i'm happy about that, havent' seen her since May...maybe one day we will be semi close again.
until next time....

God has brought another baby into this world.

Congrats to Jason and Natalie on the birth of their son
Jackson David
Born on Sunday, May 28th at 4:15pm.
Weighing 7lbs 8 ounces and 19 1/2 inches long.

Both mom and dad and baby are doing great. Talking to both of them you would never of known they went through 40 hours of labor and no sleep on top of that. They are just beaming with pride.

Jason and Natalie, he is beautiful and I love all three of you so much. I can't wait to see you guys on the 10th.

TP

Stephen and I decided to watch both of the X-Men movies before we see the 3rd one tomorrow.
So it's a little after midnight when this movies finishes and we head downstairs to throw a load of laundry in the dryer. I go to get a drink of water and as we head back toward the stairs Stephen turns the lights off. As I'm passing the front window I see something swaying in front of it...of course I just got done watching X-Men so this sort of freaked me out. I go to look out the window and I see the yard across the streat filled with toilet paper. I mean these trees are huge and the toilet paper is hanging from the tops of them. I look closer and see about 10 kids running around the yard along with the get away car down the street. I walked out side and stood stunned when I think about how much fun the neighbors were going to have when they woke up on their Saturday off to find a mess of a yard.
I stood there laughing thinking, should I of done something about it? Nah, it's all good and fun and I'm sure one day when we have kids and they are old enough to do it that their father will be driving the get away car.
Who knows they may be thankful at how much toilet paper they now have, save some money on that.
Thought I would share my midnight story with whoever might just be awake at this time.

AI

PS:

I voted 645 times for Taylor....he rocks, and I hope he wins tonight on American Idol!
Got to love the unlimted text messages.

Hey Hey Hey

A friend of mine (*cough cough Natalie*) said I should blog more.....I don't have much going on.
I'm not pregnant, I'm not moving, I'm not going on a trip, I'm not changing jobs, I didn't win the lottery, so no there isn't much going on around here.

I am working for what seems like all the time...I feel like I'm living my life at work, how sad is that? My brother just got a new truck, it's simply awesome. It's a 2000 black F-150, access cab. So we can ALL fit in there. Leather seats and all, it's really great. I think thought I'm going to stick with the smaller cars, which reminds me, I want to get a '07 Toyota Camry or a '07 Honda Accord...anyone have any thoughts on either of those? I wouldn't get one for another year, but I'm trying to decide, they are both good cars..and I won't go outside Toyota and Honda.

My friend Natalie and her husband Jason are getting ready to have a baby, a baby boy named Jackson David (unless they change the name at birth) Any day now, i'm so excited and nervous for her at the same time.

Okay must get back to work, is this good for everyone reading this????

Tired and Worn out...

I'm tired...and my feet hurt....and It's been an extremely long week.
I'm done for the day....totally done, I'm not working anymore...
Not even if someone sticks something in my inbox....not even if I feel the need to clean it out....Not even if it drives me crazy...I'm done working for the rest of this week.

Wade's view on Community college life....

These were posted by my brother Wade on his site. I thought they were really funny so I thought I would share. Enjoy!

12 things I've learned from going to community college... (All true)

12. If you haven't written in your mandatory daily journal all semester, just scribble some stuff down as fast as you can while the teacher is checking them at the end of the year, and you just might pass...
11. If the guy next to you cuts up a sheet of paper into small pieces and then asks for a pencil that writes really small...he could be writing down things that he might want to look at during an closed book exam...
10. Some girls just don't have time for breakfast, so they bring Orange Juice with them to drink during class. You can hear the slurps across the classroom as they are sipping on their GALLON CARTON of O.J.
9. When the kid next to you brags about getting a 20 on a test, then it's time to change seats.
8. When the teacher asks you what you've been reading in the past week to further your knowledge, emails from your friends is not an acceptable reply.
7. Don't help the barely english-speaking guy next to you use the word "Reprehensible" in his paper...the teacher might write it on the board and ask him if he knows what it means...
6. Some Asian people have trouble saying the "f" word, which makes it really funny when they still use it in half of their vocabulary.
5. Watch out for the guy that argues with your government teacher on why he should be able to carry his licensed hand gun on campus...
4. When a maintenance guy is working in one of your classrooms...don't touch anything as you walk by him, because you might nock apart the desk he just put together and then he'll give you a dirty look everytime he sees you for the rest of the semester.
3. Don't start up a chess game during class, the teacher might not like it...
2. Don't make fun of your teacher in class...they can have fast come backs...and theirs is usually better than yours...
1. When you're proofreading someone's paper and at the end of a sentence it says... "(For an example see picture on pg. 50)," it just might be possible that they might not have written that paper...

I thought this was quite funny

I love this one with Dustin....don't ask me what we are doing.

Easter Sunday

I love this picture

Another uneventful day

Well it's been a while since I last blogged.
I also had some pictures up here but it messed my blog up, i'll try to put them back for a little while and see if it works this time.

Works been really busy this past month, I believe this is how its going to be for the rest of the year. We are actually doing pretty good. I don't know if anyone who reads this watches the news much but one of our projects was on Monday night. Kirbyjon Caldwell, who is the Reverend at a Methodist Church, is having Kingdom Builders Center built. He will be the Reverend there when it is all said and done. This church will be a 70 million dollar project, but right now we are doing The Family Center first I believe, until they raise enough money for the rest of the Church. This project along with Lakewood are two well known projects which have been on the news. I feel proud to tell people that the company I work for is the General Contractor for both those jobs. and to also have a good reputation.

We are adjusting quite well to living with my in-laws, it might be a little longer then we thought, but it's all in God's plan for us. I'm okay with whatever His will for our life is. I'm learning to trust more, and to leave it all in His hands.

I love all the baby pictures and hope to see more soon.

I've got to get back to work so I'll post some pictures and hope they all turn out.
have a wonderful weekend.

A great weekend!

Oh wow, it's been quite a while since I posted anything, I know I know I'm slacking.
Ryan hasnt' been on my back lately so I forget.

Let's see the weekend of the 24th Stephen and I moved into his parents house. It was a good move I would say. Since having this truck we didn't have to rent a U-haul. Stephens brothers and my three brothers came over to help. My mom also came over to help me pack up some. She was a HUGE blessing, I wouldn't of known what to do without her there. Some friends of Stephens brothers also came to help. All of our big items and things we didn't need we boxed up and put in storage and took everything else to my in'laws. Saturday Stephen and I went back over to our apt and cleaned it up and handed in the keys. It was a sad time but we move on and look to what's next.

Yesterday was Stephen and I's 2nd anniversary. I can't believe how fast 2 years go.
We went to New Brunfels this past weekend to a bed and breakfast.
It was very peaceful and relaxing. We saw "Inside Man" and went to the Natural Caverns. It was so nice to just get a way for a little while. I'm so blessed to have such a wonderful husband, I could never ask for anything more....it's been a great 2 years.
Yesterday before we left to come back home we met up for lunch with some friends that live in San Antonio. Natalie is 7 weeks away from having a baby boy. Seeing them and seeing her all pregnant just made it all the more real that they are about to be parents. And great ones at that. Jackson is going to have a wonderful family.

Today was the first day that I have felt affected by the time change. I left this morning at 6:20 but when I got in my car I had forgotten to change the time so on top of the pitch black morning the time also said 5:20...so it felt REALLY early.
That's alright, I'll get used to it, it's nice to have some more daylight at the end of the day.

This coming weekend Stephen and I are going to Galveston to watch my brothes Fine Arts competitions. I'm really excited about it all, we are staying in a nice hotel and it will be different then our normal weekend routines. I'll try to remember to take pictures, I forgot when we were in New Brunfels.

Now I have to get back to work, I have double the work today because I wasn't in yesteday. But that's alright atleast it will keep me busy until 4.
I think I'm going to get my hair cut tomorrow....hm....I wanted to grow it out but its really bugging me and it's getting really hot out.

Have a great day!

A dumb moment

I think I'll share a funny story with you all.
It's quite emberrassing but it makes me chuckle and thats all that matters.

Yesterday I had to go home after work and pack a bunch of stuff but I wanted to watch some shows that I had taped at the same time. Plus American Idol was coming on too!
So I turn on the TV and turn it to channel 3 and turn on the digital cable...all I got was blue static. So I started to freak out because I HAD to watch American Idol tonight...(I'm that addicted) So I call Stephen at work and he tries to help out over the phone,....but the cords look alright (well for what I saw but i don't know anything about tv's)
So I get off the phone and call Time Warner to see if they could help me out. The guy says that everything looks okay in our area and it's really odd that it's not working....he even said the internet was working and that was odd that one wasn't working and the other one was. So he tells me to take the cord out from the back of the cable box (of course i had no clue on which cord it was so he had to "instruct" me on that) So after I do that it still doesn't work....so he says "hm...I wonder why not" . While he was re programming it I decided that maybe i should check to make sure that the TV was indeed on channel 3.....yeah so it was channel 4 that it was on....as soon as I flipped it to 3 I go "Oh look its working now" .....Of course I didn't tell him that my dumb moment was the reason I had him racking his brain on to why our TV wasn't working, I just made him believe he fixed it.
They should have recordings at the beginning:

"If you are calling about your cable not working please make sure your TV is plugged in and turned on. Also make sure your channel is tuned to the right one. If this was the case please hang up and think next time before you call and waste our time"

So much going on

So I haven't posted in quite a while, I've been crazy busy.
Not a lot going on from the outsiders stand point but there are a lot of changes going on in our lives. Stephen will be receiving a phone interview sometime this week or the next. If he passes that he will be flown to Nashville for a face to face interview. If he gets accepted into MIT (Manager in training) he will be going on to Dallas (we think) and training there for a couple months. After those months are over he will be given his very own store and that could be just about anywhere. Because of the circumstances of not knowing where we may end up in a couple months we have talked to Stephen's parents and they have allowed us to move in with them until we find out where we will be living. We are moving this weekend, I'm excited in the way of seeing that God has a great big plan for our lives. I'm so proud of my husband and all that he has accomplished in the last year. He has really proven himself and he is respected on top of everything. I'm sad becuase this is the beginning of all the change that will effect our lives, and it's hard for me to swallow, it's hard for me to say goodbye to our home for the past 2 years of being married. I'll be sad when Stephen goes away for a couple months but in the end this is God's plan and he will take care of both of us. Once I get past the packing and the moving process and Stephen passes his phone interview I think I'll be fine, I just need some concrete ground to stand on....so I can get my balance before I'm back on the wirlwind of everything.
If you think about it please pray that Stephen, he is so nervous, and I'm so nervous for him.

I'm happy with my job and where I am right now, I just worry about being rooted up again. I know that there is a bigger picture out there, but for now I just see where I'm at now. This is everything I've wanted and yet somehow I'm scared. Leaving family and friends....no one can prepare themselves for that.

Well those are just some of my thoughts on everything and also some updates on what's going on in our lives. I'll keep you posted on things as they progress.

I have to get back to work now....have a great weekend.

Game and busted toe

So I was given 4 really good Houston Rocket tickets yesterday evening. They were about $160 a piece! It was a great last minute plan.....they even won..by like 4 points...it was awesome, even I enjoyed it.

Okay so funny story, we are at the Toyota Center going down the escilators when a friend of ours stopped up top and said we were going to far...so then Wade and Stephen proceeded to run back up the down escalator and urge me to follow. I turn around and start stepping up the down and it's going pretty good until i get to the top, then the one step keeps coming and coming and coming....SO I decide that the only way to get past that is to jump while trying to keep my balance and not tumble down. So I jump and wack my big toe against the stair and busted it open......it hurt so bad. So word for the wise never go up a down escalator...and vise versa...those things are dangerous....

but yes we had a blast!! and the tickets were the best I'v seen.

it's been one crazy week

So in my spare time I'm now addicted to the great show American Idol. Honestly it's my first season to watch the whole thing, and get myself into it.
These are the people I would like to see win, or get close to. Really in no particular order as of yet:

Ace
Taylor
Chris
Will
Katherine
Lisa
Mandessa

Hopefully one of them will win in the end...with that I will be happy.

So work is crazy busy, I'm so not joking...the days seem to go by one after another after another after another. Two weeks is almost over and I haven't had time to even really think about it. But I like being busy and I like people really depending on me and coming to me to do things for them. If there is one thing I'v learned is that Accounting is always busy and hopping. Hopefully in another 2 weeks I'll have it down and not have to keep using my notes to run checks or certain things like that. I'm just excited that I don't have to answer all the phones anymore....its quite a change in life.
One sad thing is that I don't have my door anymore...so if I don't go to lunch I never see the outside...its quite sad. But you always lose something to gain something. In the end it works out.

A couple things I'm looking forward to:

Monday-a brand new episode of 24
Wednesday-An instense episode of One Tree Hill

Just thought I'd share....I love those shows.
Well I'm going to hit the hay, I'm not feeling well and I know tomorrow is going to be a busy one.
If I haven't commented on your blogs it's only becuase I never have time. For once I'm too busy to keep checking this every day.
Have a great rest of the week and a wonderful weekend.

I'm here

Wow, I love all the pictures of all these babies! How fast they grow.

Nothing much going on here, I started my new job today, I really love it. It doesn't leave me much time to get online but that's alright I love being busy.
Last week I had to train the new Receptionist to replace me, that was fun. I felt like i was between jobs, lol, I had to sit there and not work. It was crazy.

Anyways I just wanted to let everyone know I'm still here, just very busy.
Stephen took me out to Zio's tonight for Valentines day. I'm not much of a Valentines day person, and didn't feel like waiting for a table for 2 hours tomorrow. So we went out tonight. It was nice.

Well you all have a great day tomorrow, I'm going to get some sleep.

Alicia and Josh, congrats on the birth of Caleb! He is a beauty.

THANKYOU!

Thank you everyone for praying for my Grandpa.
He is doing really good right now. It seems that his family has cheered him up.
They just ran test yesterday, he has had a heart problem since he was younger, and he never really thought it would hurt him. Well it caught up to him and they think that because of that it was letting out blood clots every now and then which was causing the strokes.
But I believe that everything will work out and he will be out of the hospital before we know it. He is a very strong man.
His hands and feet have been cracking for a long time, but yet he just would tape them up and play volley ball. He had hip surgry and instead of taking it easy he was right back out there with his league.....he's an extremely strong man, and I'm thankful that we have more time with him. God is good.

So thanks again for your thoughts and prayers and words of encouragement.
You guys are awesome!

Sad News

My Grandpa had a stroke yesterday evening......he is doing good though. They were running some test today on him to see what caused the stroke. The Cat Scan said he had a couple strokes...and that his blood pressure was high....they were afraid that he would have a heart attack.

I cried my eyes out......nothing prepares you for bad news about someone you love. I'm also angry that I can't be there with him at the hospital. I'v always hated being so far away from my family...and this just makes it so much harder.

But mom called me last night, and he is doing much better...my aunts and uncles when to see him and he was in a good mood from what I heard.
Please keep him in your prayers if you think about it......he has so many people that love him and want him around for a long time yet.

Two post in one day..what a record

Alright well I know I already posted today but I thought I would share something with you guys.

Today about 12:50 a lady comes up from accounting (my new boss) and she told me that my friend Katy had been in a car accident at the corner of The Beltway and West Hardy.
So me being who I am I freaked out and got my relief to cover for me and left to check up on her. I got there and she was still sitting in her car up on the curb crying. Another co-worker from work was also there.
Supposedly she was crossing under the Beltway and someone crashed into her from the other direction as she went through the light. The man that had hit her claimed he had a green light...the lady that was behind him claimed they had a green light. Katy clamed she also had a green light....
The police were there and they were getting statements and Katy was still sitting in her car just trying to calm down, her car was such a mess.
Well as we are standing there talking to her two cars came through the intersection and crashed into each other. At that point when they were finally able to stop we found out that they claimed BOTH their lights were green.....strange huh?
So the police gave Katy a ticket because they say her light had to be red since there was a witness to the guy's green light.
About 5 minutes later I walked acrossed the stree to get a camera that another co-worker was bringing me and when I came back Katy was sitting on the ground crying and there was another man on the ground looking like he was in pain. I look up and there are 2 trucks in the intersection who had just crashed into each other. Accident number 3 within 20 minutes.
When talking to the police man about the lights not being syncronized right he said "I don't have time to sit here and watch the lights". Okay so that just really made me mad, so you would rather someone get seriously injured or die because you didn't have time to watch them? And you are still okay with giving my friend a ticket when clearly she didn't run a red light. Every one of those people in those 3 accidents claimed they had GREEN lights.
So me being who I am I called my father and told him what was going on and with him being a sergeant i knew he could do something. He couldn't help with the ticket but he did dispatch someone out to check the lights.
So I left and went back to work and a little bit later I called Katy to see how she was doing and she told me after I left there was a FOURTH accident in the middle of the intersection...and almost a 5th but they were able to stop in time.
All people say they had green lights....shouldn't the city have to pay for this???
I saw one of the accidents about 20 feet in front of me and it scared me pretty bad....poor Katy, but atleast she is still alive....God is good, no one was seriously hurt.
Be careful out there, if you are the first at a light make sure you are careful as you cross the intersection...it can be very dangerous.

Thanks for the congrats on my new position, hopefully I can start the first Monday in Feb...I'm praying.
Have a good weekend.

Exciting News

Well I have some pretty exciting news, well for me anyways.
Yesterday I had an interview at my company for an position in Accounting.
Well I found out right before I left work yesterday that I got the position.
So now I'm going to be:
The Accounts Payable Administrator!!!
I'm so terribly excited about this, I'm finally getting off the phones and going to do something productive, and I'm thankful to be able to utilize my brain power. :)
I know there may be question about my ability to do this job, because if you look at me i'm a Receptionist, with no degree, where is my experience?
But I love a challenge and as I have proven to them for the past 3 years is that I put everything in my job and do it to the best of my ability.
They did give me the job so they must trust that I am a good canidate....this is a huge chance to move up and have this experience on my resume. Last week I was so upset about work and everything and less then a week later God opened up a door for me and I'm ready to walk through it.
I do have to wait to move back there until they find a replacement for me up here...I'm that important! LOL
So this week has been such a great one...and now its almost the weekend, how exciting is that.
One other part of this new position is that I'm back there with one of my best friends, Katy, she works back there (I helped her get the job ;)) and so it's going to be fun, and its a great group....so yes God has blessed me tremendously this week.
I just thought I would share with you some extremely exciting news.

I hope you all are having a great weekend!!!
Good luck Alicia, I'm praying for you, you are almost there!

Today is going to be great

I know, I'm a little behind on keeping this updated but there is nothing even romotely interesting happening.
Stephen and I are still trying to get through all of the 24 seasons. We are now on the 2nd of the 6 disc of season 4. The new season started on Sunday so hopefully by next monday we can of finished season 4 and finished off 4 episodes of the new season. I know we are addicted, but we love it so much, its really hard to stop watching it mid season.

I can't believe how old babies have gotten and how others are about to become moms.
Alicia you have just a few weeks left
Andrea you have a few weeks left
and my dear friend Natalie is having a boy in May.
I feel a little behind, where is that baby dust?? lol
Melissa you are going to have a year old baby soon, and Lindsay your little girl is just the cutest, I can't believe how fast she is growing.

Work is about the same here, nothing really going on. Well actually we have had some changes at work, but not enough to really talk about.

This past weekend Kristen and Dennis came down to have a short little visit. We met them at IHop on Friday night....man you put us four together or more like Dennis and Stephen together and they always keep you entertained.
Saturday we went to my brother Josh's basketball game (which his team won both games) and then to Fudruckers with the family. Good ole times.
My parents anniversary was on Sunday...28 years...or was it 29...anyways, its great to see two people stay married for such a long time.
Last night my company had their annual business meeting, I didn't get home til 7pm...7:30-7pm makes for a long day.
Tonight we are going to my in-laws, its my father-in-laws birthday, I think we may be grilling steaks.
Stephen is still busting his butt trying to get into MIT, pray for him....he has worked so hard.

Anyone that is not working today, go enjoy the weather, its absolutely beautiful out there.
I must get back to work.

Alicia and Andrea good luck and I pray that your baby boy's come fast and easy....your almost there!

What a great New Year

Well I'm back and it's a brand new year.
Life has been somewhat busy but not too bad now that the Holidays are over.
I was off on Friday, Saturday, Sunday and Monday before and after the New Year.
It was a very nice change I must say, considering I hadn't had any down time since before Thanksgiving. Stephen was off on Friday and Sunday with me so that was also nice.
We did find something that we both enjoy, that is the Fox show 24. Stephens' brother has all the seasons, 1-4, and we borrowed Season 1 a while back. Well we decided to check it out and see what it was all about. The first 2 episodes had us hooked so we HAD to get through the remaining 22. So all weekend and in the evenings and my time off we watched this show. I will have to say its about the best show I'v ever seen, very intense, but great. Tuesday night we finally finished the last espisode on Season 1 and last night we watched the first episode on Season 2. I would really like to finish all 4 Seasons before the 5th one starts in a week and 3 days. It might just be the impossible but we will see how far we can get. It's one of those shows you just can't turn off, I dont see how I'm going to stand waiting week after week to find out what happens, I'm spoiled with having all the seasons at my fingertips. Anyways so thats kinda what we have been doing lately. I have managed to find time to cook and clean and take down all our Christmas things. It was nice to unclutter our place. Back to the normality of life, sad but nice. I'm ready for some relaxation and peace. Last night was my last night at Lifeway, which was very nice....I can now have somewhat of a normal life. I do have a couple things I want to do this year...I want to run every evening, watch what I eat and read the Bible in a year. I think I can handle it....I like goals.
Stephen is getting closer and closer to his right now, I'm excited to see where God is going to take us this year. Who knows what or where we will be in 6 months, bittersweet but exciting. I'm ready to move on see what else is out there.
Well Stephen and I want to do something in Feb before his life becomes hectic so if anyone has any ideas please let me know. Somewhere we can go for 4 days....that doesn't cost an arm and a leg.
I feel like I need to catch up on everything in my life, I'v just started but I feel I have so much more to do, I didn't realize how much I let slack because I didnt' have time. Also if anyone great Recipes that they would like to share I would appriciate that also.
I hope you all have a blessed week. I have to get back to work now.
